Drawing on more than 30 years of experience as one of the first social history investigators and mitigation specialists in the country, Lori James-Townes will interview Cessie Alfonso on how she pioneered this work as a new discipline in the practice of criminal defense and what she faced in the early days of mitigation and investigation. Then Cessie will turn her focus to the new frontiers in the field of mitigation and investigation work relevant to defense teams working now.
